Malcolm History
Malcolm
Electropainting & Powder Coating, is a Midlands based group of
companies located in the heart of the Black Country. Specialising
in the application of surface coatings, Malcolm are the largest independent
electropainters in the UK. We are privately owned by the Malcolm family
who established the firm in 1946 in Wolverhampton, primarily working
for the local motorcycle industry. The company is managed by its founder
John Malcolm and his son Jake who joined the company in 1978. As
the motorcycle industry declined and then sadly disappeared, the company
developed new links with industrial and automotive manufacturing companies.
In 1969, with the Wolverhampton site running at full capacity the
company expanded by opening its Darlaston plant. In 1997, with further
growth, more capacity became necessary and our facility at Wednesbury
was opened. This site utilises the most up to date technology and
is able to deal with a wide range of components. The company now employs
approximately 200 people, processing over one million components per
week. The senior management team, including: Lee Stanaway (Group MD),
Steve Hewitt (MD - Birmingham), Graham Hall (Commercial Director)
and Matthew Beddow (Technical Director) each have more than 20 years
service with Malcolms.
