Laboratory Testing and Quality Control

Quality Standards

Malcolm's Quality System is based on the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and is accredited by the British Standards Institute.

As part of our commitment to offering a Total Quality Service to all our customers We have adopted Continuous improvement activities using Kaizen production methods working with the "Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders Industry Forum" (SMMT), to reduce waste, increase efficiency and create a better working environment by using tools such as 5C's, 7 Wastes, Visual controls and standard operations.

All process stages are monitored by an "on site" laboratory to ensure the process's optimum performance. Key processes are also analysed by the supplier at regular intervals. Facilities are available for "on site" component destructive testing (eg. salt spray; composite corrosion) to customer requirements.

Malcolm uses a customised IT system based around our own and customer requirements which allows full traceability throughout our processes and is fully intergrated with our administrative and quality procedures.

Onsite Process Control

Thorough use and development of statistical information on key aspects of our processes not only satisfies the need of many of our customers, but also contributes towards more effective and efficient processes, leading to a better and more cost effective product.
